OK so Paddy is gradually accruing all of the world's supply of wood, but I've got something he hasn't I've got the worlds biggest collection of MDF dust!

At the weekend I cut 5 new radius dishes. OK so I only needed 4, 2x15ft and 2x25ft but the fifth one was a hybid 25/15 which is pretty unique and totally useless (I forgot to change the second guide rail on the jig so had one 25ft rail and one 15ft.)

The pairs have been glued back to back so that I can put sandpaper on one side and left clear on the other.

i hate MDF dust, its goes into every nook and cranny of the workshop, every orifice of the body, and seems to form a scummy film when you try to wash it off,

MDF Dust has to be lethal. Colin I hope you don't have any of that stuff in your lungs.

BTW, I keep getting an anouncement that I have won the UK Lottery. Is there such a thing?

John Just another internet scam, I get them too. When I see them they go to the junkmail bin unopened.

Full grade 3 respirator, the router hooked up to the shop Vac, funnel to main extrator, and the overhead dust extractor running! Still some escaped! But that is why I did them all in one go so that I can then do a thorough clean up job just the once. Russell will tell you that I like to keep my shop laboratory clean and uncluttered.

I won 750000 Euros on the Euromillionairas lottery in Spain today, both lucky aren't we There is a big weekly UK lottery but you'd need to buy your ?1 ticket and choose your numbers. So I guess we had both better go back to work tomorrow.

Madinter's Mad rose is fabulous stuff isn't it, and at a very good price too. Russell and I have bought quite a few sets,as I believe has Mattia. Their WRC is also right up there for quality, the best I've found. I don't know who their stateside supplier is but he sure harvests great cedar.

I really do like Madinter. I'm pondering another order, now that they've added Cocobolo to the lineup. And of course, more Madrose is always good...

There Lacewood is pretty nice too

I'm just finishing up an SJ mad from a wild set of their Madrose.

Yes Colin does like to keep his shop laboratory clean and what a beautiful shop it is too, so do I although I don't always achieve that    I am really fussy about knowing where things are if I have to look for a tool for more than 5 milliseconds I get mad.

MDF has to be the messiest stuff there is, I broke the extractor fitting on one of my routers and tried routing MDF without extraction, I dissapeared in a cloud of dust, don't try it.RussellR38845.7376736111

Must...resist...urge...to....order....

Anyway, I get suited up (now in a Tyvek, before in trash bags) before I route MDF outside, sans dust collection. And I stand upwind.
